The Complete Project FAQ

Welcome to the PureVeneer Technical & Resources Hub. This central repository provides architects, designers, and builders with high-resolution product catalogues, technical data sheets, and comprehensive FAQs regarding our sustainable timber veneers, UV-cured engineered flooring, and sculptural wall collections.

Sustainability & Authenticity

We prioritize sustainability across our entire catalog. We offer a wide range of FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certified wood veneers and engineered floors, ensuring timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests to meet strict environmental and social standards.

Yes. Whether you are specifying our flooring, wall panels, or sculptural veneers, every product is 100% genuine natural wood. We do not use “timber-look” photographic laminates or vinyls. You receive the authentic grain, warmth, and biophilic benefits of real timber.

Timber veneer is the most efficient way to use natural wood. A single cubic metre of log can produce approximately 1,000 square metres of real timber veneer. By choosing veneer over solid boards, you achieve the same luxury aesthetic while significantly reducing the consumption of raw natural resources, making it a superior choice for sustainable interior design.

Wood Veneer Panels

Natural Veneers are sliced directly from the log, showcasing unique organic variations. Recomposed Veneers (Designer & Natural ranges) are made from real timber that is sliced, dyed, and re-glued to create a perfectly consistent grain and color, which is ideal for large-scale commercial projects requiring uniformity.

PureSelect is our range of premium, ready-to-use wood veneer panels. We take the guesswork out of joinery by offering expertly curated veneers already pressed onto high-quality substrates (like MDF or Plywood), ready for immediate fabrication into cabinetry, furniture, or wall linings.

Yes. Many of our natural and dyed wood veneers are available in flexible formats or can be pressed onto flexible substrates, allowing designers to achieve seamless curves in reception desks, columns, and bespoke joinery.

Premium Engineered Wood Flooring

Our wood flooring is engineered with a multi-layered birch plywood core for structural stability and long-term performance. Each range can be supplied with a selection of professional-grade surface finishes, depending on project requirements.

Available surface finish options include:

  • Raw (Unfinished) – ideal for on-site finishing or fully bespoke treatments

  • UV-Cured Lacquer – factory-applied and instantly cured for maximum hardness and wear resistance

  • PU Coating – durable polyurethane finish suitable for high-traffic commercial environments

  • Water-Based Lacquer – low-VOC, environmentally conscious finish with a natural timber appearance

  • Natural Oils – enhances grain definition while maintaining a matte, organic look

  • Custom Colour Match – tailored staining or pigmentation to meet specific design briefs

UV-Cured Finish Advantage
When specified, our UV-cured lacquer finish is hardened during manufacturing using high-intensity ultraviolet light. Unlike traditional air-dry coatings that require extended curing times, UV curing delivers a significantly harder, more resilient surface that is ready for immediate foot traffic upon installation, improving project timelines and site efficiency.

UV-cured finishes provide the “best of both worlds.” You get the beautiful, low-sheen look of a natural oil but with the superior stain and scratch resistance of a polyurethane. Because the finish is cured in a controlled factory environment, it is more consistent, more durable, and requires significantly less maintenance than a traditional oxidative oil finish.

Yes. Our engineered oak and timber floors are specifically designed to be compatible with hydronic underfloor heating systems. The layered construction allows for efficient heat transfer while maintaining the structural integrity of the wood.

The wear layer is the top section of real wood. We typically provide a 3mm to 6mm wear layer. A 3mm layer can be professionally sanded and refinished 2–3 times, offering a lifespan of 25–50 years in a residential setting, effectively matching the longevity of solid timber.

UV-Cured Technology

Superior resistance to high-heel indents and furniture scratches.

  • Eco-Friendly: Solvent-free process with near-zero VOC emissions for better indoor air quality.

  • Immediate Use: No waiting days for finishes to “dry”—walk on your floors immediately after installation.

  • Consistent Sheen: Factory-controlled application ensures no lap marks or uneven patches.

Timber Veneer Specifications

PureVeneer is 100% genuine natural wood. It is not a plastic-based laminate or a “photographic” print. Our veneers provide the authentic grain, warmth, and biophilic benefits of real timber, offering a tactile depth that synthetic alternatives cannot replicate.

Natural Veneer: Sliced directly from the log, showcasing the “fingerprint” of nature with organic variations in grain and colour.

  • Recomposed Veneer: Made from real timber that is sliced, dyed, and re-bonded to create a perfectly consistent grain. This is the ideal solution for large-scale commercial projects where panel-to-panel uniformity is required.

Art on Wood (Traccia, Rilievo & Intagliato)

These are PureVeneer’s sculptural wood veneer collections — each offering textured or carved surfaces that add depth, dimension, and architectural impact to interiors, joinery, feature walls, and bespoke furniture.

  • Traccia Collection

What it is: Embossed wood veneers with textured patterns pressed into the surface.
Why it matters: Adds subtle relief, enhancing light play and surface interest while preserving real wood grain.
Best for: Feature walls, decorative panels, furniture cladding, and detailed joinery.

  • Rilievo Collection

What it is: Sculpted wood veneer panels with deep linear textures and three-dimensional relief.
Why it matters: These carved surfaces create strong light and shadow effects, giving surfaces a tactile architectural presence without losing the natural timber look.
Best for: Architectural wall features, bespoke joinery, furniture, and design elements where texture is key.

  • Intagliato Collection

What it is: Deep-carved, intricate wood veneer panels that offer bold three-dimensional sculptural patterns.
Why it matters: Designed to be statement surfaces, this collection merges traditional carving craftsmanship with modern design precision. It accentuates depth, movement, and natural grain dramatically.
Best for: Luxury feature walls, hotel lobbies, bespoke cabinetry, and high-impact interiors.

For the Rilievo and Intagliato ranges, we provide sequence-matched panels. This ensures that the carved grooves or patterns align perfectly from one panel to the next, creating a continuous, unbroken aesthetic across large feature walls.

Yes. While we offer signature finishes, we can provide Traccia and Rilievo panels in a raw, sanded state. This allows designers to apply custom stains or oils on-site to match other interior timber elements perfectly.

Natural Wall Coverings

Our Natural Cork wall coverings offer a unique combination of organic aesthetics and functional performance. Cork is naturally acoustic-dampening, thermally insulating, and carbon-negative, making it a perfect sustainable choice for offices, recording studios, or quiet residential spaces.

Yes. Cork is a resilient, “self-healing” material that handles impact well. When used as a wall covering, it is highly durable and maintains its appearance far better than traditional paint or wallpaper in busy environments.

Natural Characteristics & Color Evolution

Use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a mild, pH-neutral timber cleaner. Avoid abrasive sponges, ammonia-based cleaners, or excessive water. For flooring, we recommend a dedicated timber floor spray mop system to prevent moisture buildup in the joins.

Yes. We recommend that engineered flooring be delivered to the site 48–72 hours prior to installation to acclimatize to the local temperature and humidity levels. This ensures the best possible fit and long-term stability.

Installation, Care & Maintenance

Our flooring ranges feature multi-layered, UV-cured finishes. Unlike traditional finishes that air-dry over days, our coatings are cured instantaneously during manufacturing using high-intensity ultraviolet light. This creates a significantly harder, more resilient surface that is ready for immediate foot traffic upon installation.
